The course provides a large amount of material (text, video, sketches). The course itself is made up in a spiral – from simple to complex. Therefore, the development of sketchnouting takes place in a comfortable mode. Timely, constructive and detailed feedback on the work performed. I liked it: the points that need to be corrected are immediately clear. A warm, friendly, creative atmosphere was created in a separate group of participants of the course. This created a great mood for work. For those who have never encountered sketchnouting, this course will be an excellent springboard for the development of this skill. And I've definitely got a new hobby. My task, which I planned after starting sketchnouting training, has been fully realized. I will use the course skills to visually design my course. I am very happy that I took this course. This is not only an acquired skill, but also a great mood, which improved dramatically and rose while working on tasks. Ekaterina, thank you so much!

Everything turned out to be useful on the course, starting with instruments (I didn't know about such things as liners and windscreens before) and ending with sketchnouting elements and composition options. Well, there are many beautiful examples that inspire. I recommend the course for those who want to share their own and others' thoughts. So far I've been doing this using just text. Now that's going to change.

I'm a little crazy about self-development courses – I've participated in everything over the past year. But there are few worthwhile products. Despite the competition, there are still a lot of stupid courses and master classes. I wanted to understand how the world of sketchnouting works, and how much I, who cannot draw, will be able to use this tool. When choosing a course, I was hooked by the works of both the students of the course and Ekaterina. Her works completely coincide with my idea of the beautiful and logical. It turned out that Catherine's course is just my joy and love. How the lessons are built, how they are designed and how feedback is carried out is worthy of the highest praise! What a pleasure the work brought when you draw the final version directly on the finish. At first it was difficult to move from the process in my head to the implementation on a piece of paper, but by the end of the course I already knew that I would definitely achieve, even if not an ideal option, but a worthy one. That is, minus the fear. It is a pleasure not only to take classes, but also to follow the analysis of the works that Ekaterina conducts in telegram. Thank you so much for the course!

FAQ

Payment by bank cards is carried out through the Internet acquiring of Alfa-Bank CJSC.

Cards of all banks of the VISA, MasterCard, Maestro and Belcard payment systems are accepted for payment.

The security of making a payment is ensured by modern methods of verification, encryption and data transmission over closed communication channels.

The card data is entered on the secure authorization page of the bank. To pay, you must enter the card details: number, name of the holder, expiration date and a three-digit security code. The three-digit security code (CVV2 for VISA, CVC2 for MasterCard) is the three digits on the back of the card. If the card supports 3DSecure technology, you will be redirected to the page of the bank that issued the card to enter the security code.

The personal information you provide (for example: name, address, phone, e-mail, bank card number, etc.) is confidential and not subject to disclosure. The card data is transmitted only in encrypted form and is not stored on this Internet resource.

The study of the lesson materials takes 5-15 minutes. The time for homework depends on the level of difficulty that you choose (easy, medium, advanced), the degree of personal perfectionism and additional practice. In general, focus on 2-3 lessons and a total of 3 hours of practice per week (but many cope with tasks faster. There are even those who manage to complete the course in a week).

You can take lessons at a convenient pace. The main thing is to meet the end of the course. Please note that the course is not postponed (you can extend it for a month for a fee).

LESSON CONTENT
The lesson consists of theory, examples, homework (of different levels of complexity) and its analysis. There are also creative discussions and additional utilities in the group chat.

FORMAT
Combined lesson format: text, sample sketches and a short video. The study of the lesson materials is designed for 10-20 minutes.

schedule
Lessons are not tied to a specific time. You choose the pace of passage yourself: new lessons open after completing homework.
The recommended pace to meet the end of the course: 2-3 lessons per week.

TERMS OF TRAINING
Feedback and training materials are available for the duration of the course (30 days). You can extend the training for a month for a fee.

  • Learning to draw (sketchnouting does not require academic drawing). The course focuses on quick drawings. The task of sketchnouting is to visually convey the main idea, and not to create paintings for the Louvre.
  • Learning to work in the Procreate application (there will be an introductory lesson on digital tools). To get acquainted with the program, I recommend the textbook “Procreate. Learning to create masterpieces on iPad” Max Streetnay (2020).
  • Teaching scribing and artistic sketching with markers (these are separate visual directions).

You can choose for yourself where to sketch – on paper or on a tablet (iPad).

To draw on paper , you will need:

A black capillary pen is a liner to draw an outline and write text. Ordinary gel pens are easily smeared when coloring. To begin with, you can choose a universal version of 0.5 mm (for example, Faber-Castell or Pigma Micron).
Markers for sketching are windshields. They have different tips: a hard thin brush (like a felt-tip pen), a soft brush (like a classic brush), a beveled wide part (like a marker). With the first brush, it is convenient to draw thin saturated lines, with the second – to draw soft lines and make shading, with a wide beveled end – to paint over large areas. Beginners should not immediately buy a full set of colors. At first, 1-2 contrasting colors (green, blue, orange, lilac) are enough for accents and gray for shadows. The rest of the colors can be added when you decide on your favorite palette. Popular brands are Copic (considered the best), Tombow, Touch, Ecoline, Promarker, Koi.
A notebook, album or sketchbook will suit anyone – with a hard cover, dense white sheets (with a density of 140 g / m2, the drawing will not leak). It is easier for beginners to draw with a dot line. The optimal size is A5.
For some lessons, you may need: Sakura Gelly Roll 0.8 gel white pen for glare and proofreading, stickers for fixing the main theses, a 6-12 mm thick Neuland marker for presentations on a large format.
Optional: a simple pencil and ordinary office paper for sketches, an eraser.
If you plan to draw on an iPad, you will need a stylus and a graphic application: paid Procreate or free Paper, Adobe Sketch. To get acquainted with the program, I recommend the textbook “Procreate. Learning to create masterpieces on iPad” Max Streetnay (2020).

Where does this myth about non-artists come from? Everyone in childhood draws with pleasure from the process and without asking permission. Later in school, after the triples in iso and a couple of caustic comments, there is a conviction in only two options: either immediately draw pictures that hang in museums, or not even try. You understand that all other skills – writing code, cooking, swimming – can and should be learned, and for some reason the barrier regarding drawing is “I can’t [don’t allow myself] to draw.”

Yes, if you want to become an artist, you need to study it professionally. But to keep visual notes, it is enough to be able to draw simple geometric shapes and create icons from them, to notice the bright details of the image. If you don’t know how to draw, then you just need to practice more often, especially at the beginning. The formula “Talent = Desire + Time + Effort” works in any field.

When you practice:
Draw what responds to you. For example, take our step-by-step icons and exercises from Visual Notes for training Mike Roadie.
Give up perfectionism. You do not create a work of art, but convey meanings through an image. It is immediately more important to “fly in” a certain drawing experience and understand at the expense of which details it works than to create one almost perfect drawing.
Create a creative atmosphere for yourself: a beautiful sketchbook, a new set of windshields, a beautifully designed book with sketches, a creative environment. Many other tips are in Julia Cameron’s bestseller “The Way of the Artist”.

If self-study is not your strong point, come to the “Basic Sketchnouting Course”. The lessons are designed for those who have not been engaged in drawing. The material is presented in clear language, accompanied by examples, interesting tasks. You will be able to choose the level of difficulty of tasks for the lesson. For each work – a detailed analysis and recommendations of the teacher.
